Organik Fuzion Glass & Copper Sculptures
GlassSmithed Together

Organik Fuzion hand blown-glass and painted sculptures coupled with poured and wrought copper create patinas of life. The Kharma series of incense holders debuts for the Gili DragonFyre Eco-Trust Fundraiser.

Paul Falworth, a 46 year old northern California native, has lived and traveled overseas in over 70 countries. His contemporary style reflects the energy of his travels and adventures - from backpacking in the mountains of Tibet to hang gliding along the California coast.

Organik Fuzion sculptures, created with plenty of positive energy at BAGI, The Crucible and the Jungles studios, hope that their surreal and iridescent dichromatic glass and copper patinas reach out and capture your imagination.

Copper sculptures include 6-winged dragonflies (from 1 to 3 feet long) inset with flat glass patterns on the plasma-cut copper wings - an excellent example of glasssmithing.

Organik Fuzion sculptures echo the wonders and facets of our constant journey through life.

"Glass has so much energy. I just love color that dances with the imagination."

Each glass sculpture typically starts with a color overlay, then frit is added with multiple color wraps, dichromatic pieces, stringers and up to six gathers or more of clear glass to separate the color layers. The sculpture was pulled and torched to into a three feet long piece.

Every piece, cooled over two days with a custom annealing gradient, deny the colors and dichromatics chunks from cracking the sculptures. The necks were cut off for later use. Paul's pieces require a team minimum of three and sometimes four during the fabrication process.

Seven painted layers of color over seven days are added to the inside of Kharma - baked and seared together for added textures. The short neck is sheared off with a diamond circular glass saw and hand polished with a soft burr. The base is inscribed and dated.

Pure white Carmel Beach sand has been added inside for balance and to hold the incense sticks which I collect during my overseas travels. More details.

Organik Fuzion glass sculptures series include:

  • Flame - sculptures that resemble a flame, typically 14-16 inches high
  • Infinity- sculptures all with holes within each piece
  • Spirit - sculptures and vases that break free from their boundaries
  • Pumpkins - hand-blown, metal-iridescent, hand-painted black-light glass gourds
  • Kharma - hand-blown and painted incense holders
